A pivot shower door -- or a hinged shower door that is attached to fixed glass -- can update the look of your shower, creating a modern design for your bathroom. However, your shower door can become stained from the accumulation of soap scum and sediment over time, which can bring down the look of your bathroom. Replacing the door is not complicated, and it's an easy way to keep your bathroom looking its best.
1. Remove the pivot cap at the top of the pivot jamb by loosening the screws with a screwdriver.
2. Remove the upper pivot mechanism by loosening the screws with a screwdriver.
3. Lift the shower door straight up and out of the frame. The lower pivot pin should fall away as you remove the door.
4. Repeat the process to remove the attached glass panels.
5. Install the new upper and lower pivot clamps into the wall jamb and threshold by screwing them in place.
6. Guide the shower door into the frame, pushing it up into the top pivot clamp and then lowering it into the lower pivot clamp.
7. Repeat the process for installing the attached glass.
8. Attach the seal or sweep to the bottom of the door.
9. Place end caps over the top pivot clamps.
