While vinegar is a staple in the kitchen cupboard, it also comes in handy for cleaning shower doors. Water spots and soap scum turn a once-clean shower door into a spotted mess. Regular white vinegar in a spray bottle followed by a wipe-down with a damp sponge cleans scummy areas without harsh chemicals.

Squirt Solution
While pure vinegar can be used to clean a shower door, the smell momentarily may be a bit strong as you spray it. For a more diluted solution, pour equal parts vinegar and water into a spray bottle, then shake to mix. Squirt the spray and thoroughly cover both sides of the shower door, allowing it to sit for 20 to 30 minutes. Wipe down the doors with a damp, clean sponge afterward.
Soak and Scrub
For scum that is hard to remove from the door, first squirt the doors with straight vinegar and allow the vinegar to soak in for a few minutes. Pour a small amount of both salt and baking soda onto a damp sponge, then rub it over the buildup to give the door a good cleaning. After scrubbing, wipe the door with a damp, clean sponge.
